ABOUT ME

Following high school, I enlisted in the U.S Army and served eight years of service. After my enlistment ended, I attended community college and transferred to Sonoma State University where I earned my B.S in Molecular Cell Biology and my M.S in Biology. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Integrative Genetics and Genomics (IGG) graduate group at UC Davis in the Todgham Lab and Whitehead Lab.

ADVOCACY AND FUTURE GOALS

In addition to my research, I am an advocate for bridging opportunity gaps in science and have served as a mentor and team leader for a variety of groups at UC Davis such as STEM for Girls, Young Scholars Program, and many others. I am currently developing a mentor leadership program aimed at increasing military servicemembers success in STEM. Following my PhD, I will continue my training as an environmental health scientist, where I hope to organize an independent research group aimed at using cutting edge molecular tools and novel model systems to better predict and inform human health against the threat of environmental hazards.
